The 2023 U.S. Open men's singles final will be a repeat of 2021, with Novak Djokovic seeking a different result against Daniil Medvedev.
The Serbian tennis star, who is already ranked No. 1 by the ATP this year, lost to the Russian in the 2021 final at Flushing Meadows. It has been five years since Djokovic last won the U.S. Open trophy.

There have been upsets (2021) and injuries (2019), but there was also the infamous incident in 2022 when he was not allowed to enter the United States due to his vaccination status and missed the tournament, and in 2020 when he accidentally hit the ball into a line official out of frustration and was disqualified.
Djokovic has been in his usual elite form throughout the tournament,but he pulled off a huge upset against compatriot Laszlo Degele,coming back from 2-0 behind. The 36-year-old defeated unseeded American Ben Sheltonin the semifinalsto advance to the final.
Medvedev defeated top seed Carlos Alcaraz in a career-best performance in the semifinalsto advance to the final. Medvedev has yet to win a Grand Slam since defeating Djokovic in 2021, but he will be looking for another victory over one of the greatest players of all time and a major title No.
If Djokovic wins, he will win his record-tying 24th Grand Slam title.
